Walking our dogs in the Great and Glorious. . .
1/26/24 For the dog-obsessed:
When we are out walking in the great and glorious outdoors, and our minds begin to spin, we get distracted, start making lists, begin to miss the big picture of the sky and the woods, and begin to miss the little picture: the details of the soil and the grass, focus on the dog. The dog is in and a part of the natural world, as are we, but sometimes we forget. Let the dog bring us back to our true roots. We are home when we smell the deep woods, the breeze blowing off the ocean, or the warmth rising from the endless prairies. We can be reminded of who we are every day we walk with our dogs.
